Here at Capstone Dental Seven Hills, we provide free dental treatment through the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS). Children eligible for the CDBS will receive up to $1000 worth of free dental treatment over 2 years.
Looking after your children’s teeth is important and going to the dentist regularly can help set them up for beautiful strong and health teeth. The Federal Government’s initiative through the CDBS helps to alleviate the financial pressures off families so that the next generation can be set up for good oral health.
What is covered under the CDBS?
Through the CDBS, the federal government will cover up to $1,000 worth of dental services over 2 calendar years for your child. The dental treatments include:
check-ups
X-rays
dental cleans
dental fissure seals
dental fillings
root canal treatments
dental extractions.
How do I know if my child is eligible?
At the beginning of each calendar year, the government will check if your child is eligible for dental benefits under the CDBS. If your child is eligible for the dental benefits, they will send you a letter. If you’re not sure, you can:
check your Medicare online account through myGov
call the Medicare general enquiries line.
