Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)

What is it?

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a Medicare funded initiative to provide FREE dental care for children aged between 2 to 17. In January 2014, The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) was initiated by Medicare. This is a unique and beneficial dental health scheme allowing eligible children who are between the ages of 2 to 17 access to $1052 worth of dental treatment over two years.

Who can get it?

To be eligible for this scheme, you must be claiming Family Tax Benefit Part A or similar. To find out if your children are eligible you can either call Medicare directly or contact us here at Capstone Dental on (02) 8605 1696 with your Medicare Card Number and we will be able to let you know.

What’s covered?

Under the CDBS, we can provide check ups, cleans, x-rays, fissure sealants, fillings, extractions and root canal treatments. Orthodontic and cosmetic dental work is not covered at the moment under the CDBS.
