Nour– Oral Health Therapist (OHT)

What does an Oral Health Therapist do?
As an Oral Health Therapist in a general family dental clinic we work alongside the general dentists under their supervision to provide dental check up and cleans, examinations, give oral health advice, provide deep dental cleans, dental fillings for both children and adult. For kids dental care, Oral Health Therapists can place fissure sealants, perform dental extractions for baby teeth, and place stainless steel crowns for children and ensure patients maintain good oral hygiene.

What training have you done to become an OHT?
Nour completed a Bachelor of Oral Health at The University of Sydney with Adult Scope. She regularly attends dental lectures and conferences to keep herself up to date with the latest dental techniques, technology and innovations.

Nour has also completed a degree from University of Wollongong Bachelor of Science Nutrition so she great knowledge and experience in nutrition for our patients. Apart from the obvious twice daily brushing and flossing, additionally good oral health can be achieved by minimising frequent snacking. This will reduce the constant acidic environment in the mouth, helping to maintain enamel and reduce dental decay.

What do you like most about your job?
Nour is passionate about building a strong relationship with her patients. As an oral health therapist, she loves treating kids of all ages. She enjoys working with a team to create the best dental experience for patients of all ages and needs.
